Meaningful Work. Unforgettable Experiences.
Gears For Change Initiative is in the business of changing and shaping lives. The work we do at our Non-Profit Organization is aimed at providing a holistic approach to solving some of our society’s biggest challenges. We make sure our partners are empowered by creating opportunities for individuals and communities.

GENDER & DEMOCRACY
SDG 5: Gender Equality
Working with the community, we have been very keen and loud in fighting injustices in our quest for equality. YOUTH EMPOWERMENT – LEADERSHIP & ECONOMIC EMPOWERMENT
SDG 8: Decent Work and Economic Growth
Target 8.6: Promote Youth Employment, Education, and Training.
Project Description:
The project aims to mobilize, organize and engage youth talents, ideas, and skills in self and community development activities. We aim to improve youth employability, support job creation and access labour market information to young people for economic independence.
Key Achievements:
We have partnered with Kenya Youth Employment and Opportunities Project (KYEOP) in an event that trained about 100 young people on existing opportunities that they can anchor on. From there on, we have had numerous young people apply for opportunities and thus far we have about 5 young people who have successfully accessed scholarship opportunities at KYEOP. Kenya Youth Employment and Opportunities Project (KYEOP) is a transformational project that aims to empower and uplift the wellbeing of the youth in Kenya by equipping them with essential training, internship, and business grant opportunities. This project is government ran and is funded by The World Bank. Today, we have about 5 youth who successfully awarded KYEOP scholarships.
We have linked up about 20 youth to MasterCard’s Young Africa Works project called “Niko Waks Program” that is run in partnership with KCB bank. The 20 young people went through a 3 month training on Hydroponics farming and in groups of two, will each access a loan of 1M KES to begin greenhouse farming.
We have also linked up young people to IEBC jobs. We had about 5 young people who conducted the interviews and were successful polling clerks at the Just concluded Juja By- Election.
We have about 15 young people employed at the Kazi Mtaani program.
We have a membership base of over 200 youth members.
Our organization generates up to 15 community outreach activities annually.
Our clubs' structure offers opportunities for over 20 leaders annually.
We endeavour to have over 70% of our members easily transition into the job market and higher learning institutions.
We are governed by a common constitution. In the spirit of democracy and to promote youth leadership, the members elect their secretariat. The Founder and Chairperson for the organization serves as the official representative of the organization.
